Design and Drawings

After establishing the specifications for your Bespoke Handcrafted Furniture project, the information is accumulated to create precise drawings by hand. Copies of these are provided for you in advance for your approval, along with an accurate quote for your bespoke project. We are always happy to make any amendments at this stage to ensure your requirements are fully met to your personal specifications, giving you assurance that your handcrafted project will perfectly function for you in its intended space.

Handcrafting

With the agreed specification obtained and timescale given, handcrafting your individually designed project begins in our Norfolk workshop, with precision and detailed application of our skills. We use modern cutting-edge machinery including dimension panel saw, surface planer, thicknesser, spindle moulder, tenoner and mortise machine. Along with power tools, and of course our hand tools, to create and craft your project precisely and accurately.

The majority of our bespoke furniture projects are pre-assembled in the workshop, ensuring accuracy such as doors, drawers and all other areas are operating and fitting as they should prior to finishing your project to your personal requirements.

As furniture and cabinet makers in Norfolk, we are fully in touch with you during the process of handcrafting your project, we supply images for you at varying stages of progress as your bespoke furniture takes shape and comes to life in the workshop.

Finishes

All finishes are personally applied by us in our in-house workshop spray booth. Whether your chosen finish is to be painted or natural, we take care of this for you. The undercoats, primers, colour pigmented top coat colours and lacquers we use are all water based low-VOC products. These are far kinder to the environment than solvent based alternatives which is why we choose to use them. Read more about our environmental impact here.

Each of the products we use has been specifically designed and engineered for the furniture industry, and any colour of your choice can be made to suit your requirements. Whether a particular Farrow and Ball, Little Greene, Sanderson, Mylands or any other make takes your fancy, or you can have a bespoke colour made to fully suit your project and home. Colour samples and finishes are supplied upon request.

Along with Lacquers, we also use Osmo Oil products for natural finishes. The products Osmo Oil have to offer are fantastic, their product formula has been specially developed to allow a deep penetration into the wood grain but still allows the material to breathe whilst preserving it, this keeps your natural wooden surfaces healthy for decades. Osmo Oil is made by carefully harvested natural plant based oils and hard waxes, all of which are fully sustainable, and is proudly vegan too.
